Koh Do Zen is a wise mixture of aloe wood (or agar), sandalwood, borneol, clove, cinnamon and other medicinal herbs that give it a pungent tone. Its rare, exquisite and serene aroma was the favorite of Zen master Kodo Sawaki. Manufactured by the Baieido company in Japan, it contains natural ingredients of the highest quality. The story goes back to 1657 when Kakuemon Yamatoya opened a wholesale store of medicinal herbs and aromatic woods in Sakai. Since then Baieido continues to manufacture incense with its traditional formulas that are transmitted secretly from generation to generation.

In the Muromachi era (XV century) burning incense became an art: Koh Do, the path of incense or the art of incense. It is a ceremony in which fragrances are enjoyed and sensitivity is cultivated. It is an aesthetic and spiritual experience, an excursion of the soul through a world of elegant simplicity in accordance with the spirit of Zen.
