These are the seeds of the Rudraksha tree and are also known as Shiva's tears. These malas have been used in Hinduism since the 10th century for meditative purposes, and the seeds are attributed mystical and divine properties in the Vedas, offering protection against negative energies.
In order to keep the Rudraksha in optimal conditions, it is recommended to clean it every two or three months. You can use an unused toothbrush and neutral soap. Once brushed, it is advisable to spread it with a few drops of vegetable oil (for example, almond oil).
