Called lungta or wind horse, they are placed in temples, houses, mountains, trees or places of devotion. Exposed to the elements, they will deteriorate little by little over time. In this way they symbolize the fragility and impermanence of human life and of all things. They carry five colors that symbolize the five elements, the five families of Buddhas and the five directions: Blue (Space), White (Water), Red (Fire), Green (Air) and Yellow (Earth).
Prayer flags bring benefits to everyone. It is the wind that is in charge of taking the prayers to where they are most needed.
