Koshi chimes
The Koshi chime is a small musical instrument similar to tubular wind chimes. It is made by hand with a bamboo tube that houses 8 metallic sheets of crystalline sound and rich in harmonics inside. Each model forms a different scale that is associated with an element of nature: Earth, Water, Wind and Fire. The materials are of excellent quality. Very popular in areas of music therapy, in meditation sessions and in yoga practices. At the end of the description you will find the detail of each staircase.

The Koshi is not just a hanging chime, it is a true high-quality musical instrument, completely intuitive, whose sound immediately induces calm and well-being. Handcrafted at the foot of the Pyrenees by the inventor of the Shanti Chimes, the old version of the Koshi that they considerably improve in sound and warmth.
With an exquisitely minimalist visual appearance, it is a resonator cylinder made from thin layers of bamboo that houses 8 finely tuned rods inside, silver-soldered to the resonator. The musical notes produced by these rods form a chord rich in harmonics, with an extraordinarily beautiful sound. The rods sound as they are struck by a glass beater that hardly produces any impact noise and, on the contrary, makes the notes jump with an incredible duration for such a small instrument.
There are 4 tunings available that correspond to the 4 elements earth, water, air, fire. Terra and fire form a major chord while water and air form a minor chord. Very popular in areas of music therapy, in meditation work, in yoga classes, minor chords are normally used to "enter" states of relaxation and meditation while major chords are used to "exit" these states.
Also noticeable is the difference between the two major chords: earth and fire. This would be that in the case of fire, the chord contains a harmonic interval that gives more "tension" to the chord and that many therapists agree in interpreting as "heat". While earth is a chord that more clearly resolves the tonality, in music it is called "falling to earth" and some therapists also associate it with "cleansing".
Something similar happens between water and air. The higher harmonic tension of air is conceptualized as "force" while water is more associated with "going down" or "going in".
